I have never, ever wondered about the characters sexuality. Anyone that does has a screw loose somewhere. Put me down as a "never wondered" either. I think that gay people are so desperate to fit in that they "steal" these types of things from tv to try to justify themselves. Who ever cared about Bert and Ernie? No one, until the gays started pointing to it and treated it as their own little in joke. That the characters are simply characters is irrelevant, they can pretend that Bert and Ernie are gay and somehow that makes them feel better about themselves.

I knew Bert was evil, but I never knew he was gay too! ;^)

I think that gay people are so desperate to fit in that they "steal" these types of things from tv to try to justify themselves. You are spot on, Dianna. I was kind of suprised (no...more like appalled) that there is a huge gay following of my favorite (re-run) soap operas, "Dark Shadows." The main character is a vampire, who is trying to keep his secret away from his family. Gays identify with this, and it makes me ill that something so campy and beloved as a childhood memory has been, "swiped" by the rainbow crowd for their own perverted self justification. Burns me up to no end. Isn't there anything sacred and "innocent" anymore??

The greatest philosopher of our times is Bugs Bunny. Next to him, the rest are but maroons!;)

At one time I would have agreed with you 100% and would also ask to put me down on this as well! I never considered anything of at all in terms of sexuality when I would watch the show with my 2 kids 3 & 6, However I do find some truth in this controversy, as they had 1 episode of Spongebob and patrick..... 2 males being parents to a baby clam and Spongebob..was the House wife(crossdressed).......I saw this with my 2 kids and my wife.....we both freaked out when we saw this...we could not believe they would put an episode like that prime time...label it as a kid show no matter what!.....Unless this ( that particular episopde) was deliberate from Nickolodeon as a protest to the accusations of there hit show....I for one monitor there TV content very much.......and I for one don't need the help of the TV to be a catalyst in polluting there brain at this age!
