On October 18-19th, 2002 the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government will sponsor the Kosovo Investment Conference (KICO) at the New York Hilton Hotel. KICO will bring together officials from Kosovo and interested members of the U.S. business community, particularly Kosovo-Albanian non-residents, to explore possibilities in investment and privatization in Kosovo. The conference will feature senior UNMIK officials; Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi; Mr. Behxhet Brajshori, Minister of Youth, Sports & Non-Residential Affairs; Mr. Ali Sadriu, Minister of Economy and Finance; and Mr. Ali Jakupi, Minister of Trade and Industry. The Kosovar delegation will also include Kosovar companies exploring commercial opportunities with U.S. companies. The KICO conference will be held on Friday and Saturday, October 18-19, 2002 at the Hilton, New York City.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the efforts being made in Kosovo to reform the business environment and commercial opportunities in key sectors. The conference will also feature U.S. businesses' perspectives and insights for successfully doing business in Kosovo. There will be extensive time allowed for questions and answers during the conference plenary. In addition, Kosovar companies in the food processing, beverage, information technology, building and construction, tourism, metal processing, mining, and pharmaceuticals sectors will be represented in a special session on sectoral privatization on October 19th. This session will focus on one-on-one consultations both with representatives and Kosovar companies present.
