Officer in gun controversy has instructor's job [Liberal Media Gun Grabber Piece]

(New Haven-AP, Oct. 14, 2002 7:22 AM) _ A New Haven police officer who was fired, then rehired after a shooting at a sobriety checkpoint, has a new part-time job as firearms instructor.

Shafiq Abdus Sabur has been certified as a firearms instructor with the National Rifle Association.

Sabur had been fired for shooting out tires on a car at the sobriety checkpoint, then rehired.

Sabur has informed department officials that he obtained NRA certification and he would offer paid instruction to the public on firearms safety.

In another incident involving problems with firearms, in June of 1999, he was arrested for giving his brother, a convicted felon banned by law from possessing a weapon, a handgun that he later used to kill another man during a dispute.

I doubt all this is even true. ABC News obviously wants to get the message out that BAD PEOPLE, especially those with (gasp) Arabic names, are associated with the NRA. Don't try to get firearms training with this guy! He might kill you!
