Before he headed to Michigan to stump for gubernatorial candidate Dick Posthumus and State Sen. Thaddeus McCotter ( the GOP nominee for a new congressional seat), President Bush spoke to reporters about the beltway sniper and the terrorist attack in Bali, Indonesia. Bush said he believed the bombing in Bali was Al Qaeda, and urged the world to continue to fight against these aggressors. In Michigan, (WOO HOO) Bush spoke at Oakland County International Airport, and is attending a GOP fundraiser this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

QUOTE OF THE DAY: The sniper attacks, first of all, I'm just sickened, sick to my stomach to think that there is a cold-blooded killer at home taking innocent life. I weep for those who lost their loved ones. I am -- the idea of moms taking their kids to school and sheltering them from a potential sniper attack is not the America I know. And therefore, we're lending all the resources of the federal government, all that have been required to do everything we can to assist the local law authorities to find this -- whoever it is.

Two points. I heard the President this morning and he sounded pissed about the Beltway Sniper. Two, he could run for governor of Michigan and I think he'd still lose. I hate to sound resigned and defeated, but I think Michigan will have the most socialist Hillary clone in power this time next year.

Hi rintense, Jan got in to see the dr. today and he said she has another virus like a lot of people here do. He said if for any reason that she starts feeling worse to immediately call him. He also said she was beginning to get dehydrated and to push the liquids but she is still having trouble with that. Oh, you want to hear something funny? Since the grandkids are out in Seattle we went down to let the dogs out. One would not come out from under a table. So, daughter no. l went down to see what was wrong. Well, she found that the 2 dogs had opened a jar of peanut butter and eaten as much as they could then left the jar on the floor. Smart dogs!!

THE PRESIDENT: Of course, I didn't. But -- that was an unnecessary cheap shot, I apologize. It's a Columbus Day cheap shot. (Laughter.) See you all.
