I also agree with what you say about how the excesses and corruption present in Western society repel many immigrants who might otherwise be inclined to assimilate. The posters who criticized you need to think again. Of course the furthest-gone Musim fanatics hate us no matter what, but our own moral corruption gives them a powerful argument to use on their own moderates. There are the Taliban-like Muslims. They would hate us no matter what, you are right. But most of the Muslims are not that extreme, and don't see the call to "jihad" as a call to armed struggle. They see it as an inner struggle, waged within themselves, against evil.
