The Czech government continues to insist that al Qaeda terrorist Mohamed Atta met in Prague with an Iraqi intelligence officer months before the September 11 attacks.
The meeting between Atta, and Ahmed Khalil Ibrahim Samir Ani, an Iraqi intelligence officer, is the only reported link between the September 11 hijackers and a foreign intelligence service.

Far from distancing himself from Al-Qaeda, Saddam openly endorsed the 9-11 attacks from the get-go. His son publicly praised the "beauty of Osama's face." Saddam today plays host to the only unapprehended, indicted conspirator in the original, 1993 attempt to topple the WTC, Abdul Rahman Yasin, who talked himself out of an FBI interrogation and fled immediately to Baghdad. That 1993 attack was, BTW, organized by a mysterious individual, "Ramzi Yousef," who arrived in this country on an Iraqi passport. Ramzi Yousef is a former associate of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the very individual who organized the 9/11 attacks. Neither of these individuals remotely fit the profile of devout muslims. Iraq is the only extant foreign country known to have weaponized anthrax. Osama bin Laden's key talking points -- US sanctions against Iraq, and US military forces in Saudi Arabia -- are Saddam's key gripes with the US. Iraq is the only country to have been publicly linked at a governmental level with Mohammed Atta, operational commander for the 9/11 attacks. Long before 9/11, Iraq had been fingered by defectors for operating a hijacking training school at Salman Pak. Iraq has hosted terror summits with leading al-Qaeda figures for years now -- this was widely reported even in left-wing papers such as the UK Guardian, before it became convenient to forget such links after Bush set his sights on Iraq. Saddam is the only world leader publicly targeted for removal by the POTUS in the days following 9-11, and Iraq is the only country which has been threatened with a nuclear first strike by the British Labor government following the attacks.
You figure it out.
Look at the CIA's track record. In 1990, they told Bush, Sr, that Saddam wouldn't dare invade Kuwait. For years they have pooh-poohed the work of independent analysts who warned that Saddam never stopped fighting the Gulf War -- that he merely switched tactics to the use of terrorist proxies -- and that the US was horrifically vulnerable to massive terror attacks and biowar blackmail by Saddam. Now the CIA director all of a sudden decides that the arguments he used to avoid confronting the problem are crap -- which was always obvious to anyone with a lick of sense -- and we are supposed to take him seriously. Sorry, I don't think so. Tenet is a disgrace and needs to be removed forthwith.

"Classified information shows a strong link between al-Qaida and Iraq, U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings said Monday. Members of Congress have received classified briefings that also show Iraq has chemical and biological weapons stockpiled and is "working on nuclear weapons," Hastings said. Hastings said the Bush administration needs to find a balance between protecting American intelligence sources and providing enough information to show the public the link between al-Qaida and Iraq. The lack of a publicly proven strong link between Iraq and the terrorist organization has been a major criticism of President Bush's preparations for a possible attack on Iraq... "I think the president has made his case," Hastings said.
