Daschle said the Democrats' chances of holding their one-seat majority in the Senate were "slightly better than 50-50." He said four Senate seats now held by Democrats -- in Minnesota, Missouri, South Dakota and Georgia -- were up for grabs as were four Republican-held seats in Colorado, New Hampshire, Texas and Arkansas. Democratic candidates, he said, were within striking distance in the North and South Carolina seats being vacated by Republicans Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond.
You know what really strikes me about this? The fact that he threw Georgia in there as being "up for grabs". It doesn't surprise me that he threw TX in there, even though all signs point to Coryan trouncing Kirk, I think he threw it in their to "even the sides". I totally discount that SC and NC are "in striking distance" for the Dems.
If anything I thought NJ would be in the 7th place "up for grabs" slot". Me thinks we shouldn't be all that surpised if GA goes our way.

FWIW, on another thread I posted a Wash Times article detailing where the President is expected to go these last couple of weeks. GA, SC, NC, NJ, CO, and TX all made the list. Then again, not too many states didn't make the list! :-) But in GA the GOP has a chance to steal the gov seat as well as the Senate seat. I'm not saying they will, but they're looking at them both quite seriously, IMHO.
