My husband, Quickdraw McGraw, started out his career in missiles at Minot. It's too bad he's not here to add his experiences to today's Liberty! He has some fond memories of the place. I wonder if it's still true that those northern tier bases tend to bond people together like family, like it did when he was there.

QM told me that the day he left Minot, his trailer on base (and car) was buried in a snowdrift! He threw a case of brewskies into the drift and told his friends they could drink the bottles when they dug them out!!! His friends would have helped him out anyway but it was just the kind of fun they had back in those bachelor days.
