I believe John Cornyn is a bright and intelligent manThis one makes me chuckle. Could you imagine if Cornyn had said exactly the same thing about Kirk? He would have been condemned for engaging in racist condescension!
By the way, I'd be interested to hear from any FReepers who actually saw the debate. Who got the upper hand?
I'm biased and felt Cornyn did better, but in all fairness, Kirk held his own. I think Cornyn did better with the facts, and Kirk did better at dodging/skirting some of the questions. Of course, his supporters and uninformed voters will miss that, so it's probably a mute point. It'll be interesting to see what each campaign says about the debate, though......
