Summer, explain to me why Jeb Bush appears to be (at least in media accounts, I know, that's not reliable), struggling. From all the articles you have posted about what a great job he is doing there, overall, in many ways, what's up with this?

This sounds a lot better...I hope it's accurate....the Rats are working overtime to unseat Jeb...Matthews et al are all doing hit pieces on Jeb.

How come when Jeb's daughter's problems are smeared all over the air, Jeb is not thought of as "just one of us."
Could it be the FL media?

I received a telephone call one evening this past week that was a recorded message from Barbara Bush reminding me to get out and vote, and to use the absentee ballot option if need be. I am a registered Republican in Okaloosa County, Florida. Any other Republicans in Florida get the same telephone call?
I guess Jeb is calling out the "heavy artillery". I don't think it panic, it's just leaving nothing to chance. Registered Democrats outnumber Republicans in Florida by more than 300,000.

McBride is his own worst enemy.
All you have to do is see him and listen to him and that will be enough to make you want to vote for Jeb. He is the closest thing to Homer Simpson in this year's election.
The best thing the Democrats could do to help him would be to ship him to someplace like "Gilligan's Island" where he can't be seen or heard until after the election.

Don't get too excited about this poll. McLaughlin is a partisan (R) pollster, not an independent pollster. That doesn't mean this poll is wrong, but partisan polls should always be taken with a grain of salt. I believe Mellman (D) came out with a poll showing McBride actually leading Bush, for example.

This past Wednesday I was polled by CNN on local issues. Of course one of the questions was who will you vote for, Jeb or McBride? I haven't seen any mention of this in the press and am wondering if it's because CNN didn't like the results. Maybe I missed it since I don't watch CNN much.

...done for U.S. Sugar Corp.If this is what I think it is, than these guys are very big Bush supporters. I hope it's right, but just might want to take it with a small grain of salt, or sugar :)

I really think you're to be commended for all the work you've done on FR to keep Freepers informed about Jeb's race. None of us doubt who's the better man or who should win, but what worries me is the dim's propensity for election manipulation, dirty tricks and voter fraud. Is there an organized effort afoot in FL by the GOP to prevent the dim's from stealing this race? The story last week about 18 missing voting machines in Broward County is worrisome. I feel like we've got the best candidates throughout the country but I really fear MASSIVE voter fraud throughout the country, but especially in FL, NJ, MN, SD and as always, MD.
We saw MASSIVE fraud in 2000 in MI, OR, PA, MO. and N.M. ...not to mention the debacle in FL. and I truly don't want to see a replay, but the dim's primary last month tells me that the FL democratic party seems to be planning a reprise.

The Democrats have decided to make their stand in Florida,by defeating Jeb and positioning Florida to go in the Dems column ,in 2004. McBride strikes me physically as clinton like- a doughy, florid face, with anger and nastiness ,just bubbling below the surface. Chris Matthews ,Carville and Begala appear on the verge of madness, over the midterm elections-they do not look at all comfortable and at peace. They look absolutely terrified and that's when the Dems are most dangerous. We must get out the vote, nationwide, like we have never done before!!

my only concern is jeb does need to hit that 50% mark and hit it soon

In the last 2 Governors races, Jeb won handily in 1998 with 55% of the vote.

In 1994, Jeb was narrowly defeated by rat voter fraud in Broward and Palm Beach counties 2,135,008-2,071,068 (50.8%-49.2%)
Jeb has consistently gotten over 2,000,000 votes in the last 2 statewide elections.
No Democrook running for Governor in Florida ever got more total votes than the 2,174,741 realized by Jeb 4 years ago.
McBribe is not the guy thats going to do it.
In spite of the socialist crooks in the DNC's lies to the contrary, it is McLawyer who is going to have a hard time getting out his base in South Florida, in that he and his goons stole the election away from their canidate Reno, and then further insulted them by picking white socialist Tom Rossin as his running mate.
Looks like the Democrats are in big trouble in Florida!.
