MARYLAND'S GOVERNOR HAS FAILED ITS CITIZENS. My Title
October 22, 2002 | floriduh voter

Posted on 10/22/2002 12:43:42 PM PDT by floriduh voter

If the admin moderator needs to move this to a different section because this is my opinion, not a real editorial, that's fine. I just wanted to express my frustration at the failed leadership of Maryland's and also Virginia's Governors.

They are hiding, it appears, instead of protecting the citizenry.

I hope that the citizenry is contacting their elected officials, candidates and the President regarding the stalled Homeland Security Bill; basically, raising the roof on this matter.

FAILED LEADERSHIP OF THE GOVERNORS SHOULD NOT GO UNCHALLENGED - especially when we are talking about THE WORST CRIME SPREE in my memory. It may be terrorism - we don't know yet, but we do know that he keeps picking people off and Moose appears to be the fall guy and/or only voice.

I am very short on time today but I hope that someone agrees with me and that some effort has or will be started to DEMAND ACTION AND LEADERSHIP from the Governors. Don't be shy and not call them if they're democrats. Fregards, floriduh voter.

Once again, more prayers to all the families and if someone hasn't done so already, we should compile one list of all foundation addresses for the families.

Please ping me that list if it already exists. Or, feel free to start it here. Thanks. FV

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, "I have been in charge of crime in Maryland for the past eight years.....no wait that is crime fighting. Right. Crime Fighting."

More Guns. Less Crime.

Things could be worse. Imagine the deep doo-doo we'd all be in if the two governors were to come out of hiding.....

If you think it's bad now, just wait.... if/when a Kennedy takes over in Maryland.

The silence from elected officials is deafening. All they seem to care about is campaigning and fund raising. Their nonchalant, sublime, head buried in the sand attitude sucks.

It's really pathetic that there is a solution but as long as they've got Moose as a mouthpiece/fall guy, the REAL LEADERS do nothing and say nothing. The Governor is the leader of the state who took an oath which says he will do what?

The task force needs to get more focused on catching the guy. IMO. the money thing is a RUSE.

The Governors need to step up to the plate and LEAD, CALL OUT THE GUARD AND REASSURE but apparently, people dying is simply an untimely interruption or at best, a gun control issue. Is that about right?

I guess I'm spoiled here in Florida but I think you should read the Governor's Oath of Office for Maryland. There's probably something applicable in there. Upholding the laws of the state, protecting its citizens, etc. Stuff like that there.

IF A PUBLIC OFFICIAL DOES NOT LEAD, THAT'S FAILED LEADERSHIP.

Wasn't the anti-patriot act bad enough for you? It violates about half of the bill of rights. Legislation is almost always a bad idea, what's needed is to repeal the thousands of bad and unconstitutional legislative acts already on the books.

The government that governs least, governs best.

I want them to catch the guy, okay? Free up law enforcement to do their job. The Guard stakes out the woods for "the bad guy".

I'm sick of seeing people lying on the ground with tarps over them and they've all left loved ones and friends behind.

When the bad guy(s) are shot (accidentally) sarcasm then nobody else dies.

The governor spoke up today. He stated he's getting phone calls. He acted like a governor today but he's considering using the Guard so that voters don't get shot at the polls. That won't make anyone else feel safe UNTIL NOVEMBER 5TH.

So you're suggesting a liberal, without promise of a bribe, actually take responsibility upon himself to do what is right instead of what furthers his career? America will vote in the Sheik as president before that ever happens.

Hopefully, the pubbie will beat KKT and we won't even have to post a thread called Maryland's Governor Has Failed Its Citizens pre-arrest of two of the gang of killers.

The Kentucky trucker deserves our thanks on their capture.

This is understandable in Maryland. Spendenning has been too busy poaching other people's football teams and his own office staff.

That's pretty telling isn't it. If citizens want the national guard to protect children with a sniper on the loose, well that over reacting. When candidates want voters to come out of hiding and go to the polls it's good policy, and they are right there to protect everyone.
