I am not about to critize Chief Moose. He's got a difficult job at the moment, and I havent seen anything in his job performance to make me think the less of him. You could bring J.Edgar Hoover back right now and he wouldnt be able to do any better. Finding one lone nut in a huge metropolitan area is not an easy task.
Stockholm Syndrome?
Since when does a pal of Janet Reno and a possible puppet of the NAACP become above reproach on FR?
It's unfortunate, but true, that you will not hear honest criticism of Moose in either the broadcast or print media -- because he is black, he is off-limits to the frustrated criticism that would have befallen a non-minority chief days ago.
Instead, we have the White House press corps now heckling Ari Fleisher with the insinuation the President is somehow responsible for the sniper, because he "hasn't done enough." The logic here is absurd -- let's not criticize the guy in charge, let's not replace him, since that would be racist, and would be undermining the the authority of local law enforcement, but by all means let's blame the President.
I don't blame Moose for the ineffectiveness of the feds -- but let's face it, political correctness, "sensivity" to cultural diversity and the hypocrisy of those who oppose "profiling" contributed mightily to 9/11, and still continues to undermine the pursuit of terrorists in our own country. The fact that an apostle of the left's mantras is in charge of this investigation, and the implications of why he is in charge, is certainly worthy of discussion.
