You're right. A white, right-wing, militia, Timothy McVeigh type would have been just lovely for the left-wing media types. They and their Dim cohorts could have demagogued against the Pubbies all the way to November 5th.

They may still try, but their voices will be muted because these guys are black (gotta be PC in handling race) and their motive may be (at least marginally) related to 9/11. If it turns out these guys were somehow connected to an organized terror group, the Dims will still try to pin the deaths on Bush for not providing adequate homeland security.

It will be very interesting to observe the media spin in this case.

If Mohammed/Williams is indeed the sniper, I would expect the media to play up the military veteran angle, i.e., "the U.S. Army trained the killer, we have seen the enemy and the enemy is us," that sort of thing.
