Women take less time to get ready (NOT BLOODY LIKELY ALERT)
The Evening Standard ^ | October 24, 2002 | Elaine Galloway

Women accused of hogging the mirror before a night out can finally silence their critics - they are quicker at getting ready than ever before.

It takes an average of 23 minutes for the modern woman to put on her "face", compared with an average of 90 minutes a decade ago.

Point of order. It may not take forever, but it certainly feels like forever - Ivan

Furthermore, today's men are more patient than their counterparts of the early Nineties, and are prepared to wait for the results of the transformation.

The survey of 1,000 men from across the UK, commissioned by dental care experts Oral B, revealed that 78 per cent wished their girlfriends actually spent more time over their appearance.

Note to my lady if she's reading this (likely) - darling, no sight could be more beautiful to me than waking up to you in my arms. Before you even get near a vanity mirror - Ivan

As women rushed their beauty routine because of busier and more hectic lifestyles, the research showed men were no longer nagging their partners but encouraging them to spend more time making themselves look beautiful.

Like men, who take just 15 minutes to get ready on average, women no longer feel the need to spend hours in front of the mirror.

And it seems London ladies are the least likely to make an effort with their regime.

More women in the capital go out straight from work, leaving little or no time to transform their look.

In contrast, men in the North think their women wear too much make up.

imo...make up is to enhance the beauty God gave women...not to change the looks. I spend 5 minutes on makeup & 10 on hair. Simplicity is best. More time for the truly important things in life. :o)

Although the source is from the UK, surely, they must be writing about French women, for whom bathing and shaving of facial and other body hair is a rare thing.

Another one!!! I do make up in 9 minutes in front of a mirror. I use the great big outdoor blow dryer on my way to work.

The UK and Dental Care? Why does this not sound right?

"Come on, let's go. Come-on, let's go." That's what they say (nag). So, you get up, grab the car keys and you go. Invariably, you will find yourself sitting in the car waiting.

You could be asleep in bed when they announce they are walking out the door and still find yourself in the car waiting with the engine idling for them to come out of the house.

It is the same at the store. True story coming...

I drop my wife off at the front of the store. She say she will be just 15 minutes. 45 minutes go by. No wife. I get and drive to the burger joint. Instead of the drive through, I go in and take my time. 20 minutes I'm there. I drive back to the store and park where I can see her if she comes out but she can not see me. My plan: watch her as she waits. Another 30 minutes later she walks out the door.

She got in the car and I swear that women never realized she had been in there over an hour.

Aren't you afraid you'll stick yourself in the eye with the mascara wand?

Nope I have it down to a fine art. And I can apply eye-liner without even looking in a mirror (that's probably a real skill). Now if only I could apply it with my mouth closed! (Bet you can't either! *L*)

And driving with a full cup of coffee in one hand is hard enough.

Well, I don't drink coffee much. Mainly bottled water, or Guinness. The bottled water is good for the skin, the Guinness good for the soul ;-)

messy eyeliner is my trademark. And yes, I do drink lots of water, and wine, and martinis.
