Yes--I've had the problem for some time. It says "New posts to you" but there aren't any and all it shows is my responses to someone else.

That's been the case with me ever since I signed up. But the problem I was having that prompted this thread, was that even after I checked my posts and reloaded the page, I was still getting the words of blue, and I couldn't get rid of it. And what was even weirder is that there were no new actual posts to trigger it, either to me or by me. But it seems to be back to normal now.

I've been having this problem since they made the big change. It shows as "new post to me" when noone has made one to me.

Also noticed yesterday when the Wellstone story broke that I could not get on here - figure that was just traffic.

I had the same observations. Of course, I had these observations after I tried to start this thread, so I figured everybody must be having the same problem, and gave up trying to post it. Then, come to find out it got posted anyway. I guess the program's developing a sense of humor. Maybe next it'll start telling jokes about us on our homepages.

Is there any way of ridding the page of the list once it has been checked, read or handled to one's satisfaction?

It doesn't look like there is such a way. Otherwise, it would look the way Freepmail does, with a little box to check if you wanted to delete a particular message.

And by the way, I didn't know I might have been ruffling any feathers by posting this. I just figured it was a legitimate way of calling attention to a problem. Are there certain powers-that-be that don't take kindly to it?

When you post a comment it shows as a "new post" to your screen name. What I do is go to "My Comments" link at the top or bottom of the thread immediately after posting a reply. The alert is reset and then will only show "New posts to you" when someone does actually post to me.

It works for me.

I feel that it should be a legit way. Looks like quite a few of us were/are having the problem and there appears to be no rhyme or reason, but it does mean that if someone posts back to you, you appear rude for not acknowledging because you have no clue that they did.

Mine has not righted itself or changed at all. It's also among those that list all posts made whether there is a reply or not. For some people that would be a formidable list.

Hoping that John will see this for a "heads up" and understand it is no complaint or even comment against the magnificent job he does.
