Handsome is as handsome does and unless and until we witness more forceful expressions of condemnation of the jihadists from Muslim leaders here in the U.S. then we must view Muslims with suspicion — individually and as a group — until we can determine whose side they are on.

Platitudinous and ambiguous general statements against terror just won't cut the mustard anymore.

I hear Muslims say that they love America but I have never heard one extol the virtues of our political and social system in general or the Constitution in particular.

Generally what I have heard from them are either whining complaints of an imaginary anti-Muslim backlash or hectoring lectures about the supposed shortcomings of American foreign policy.

While I am aware that there have been some Muslims here in the U.S. who have proven their loyalty and bona fides as good Americans, for the majority of them the jury is still out, at least in my estimation.

As for Iran, there is nothing that the denizens of Free Republic can do to help or harm their cause except support President Bush in his policy vis a via Iraq.

Once we are established there the whole complexion of the Middle East will change.

I have a neighbor who came from Pakistan in the last two years. I have had many convesations with her and she always manages to bring her religion into the conversation like she is trying to convert me. She tell me Pakistan is just like the United States. Right! Anyhow, when I first met her I ask her why she wanted to be a U.S. citizen (this was right after 9-11 and she could tell I was prodding for the right answer). She said because the U.S. is known for human rights. I ask her about our Constitution and she had no idea what I was talking about. I had many conversations with her and in one conversation she implied that American women are sluts. She did'nt put it exactly that way, but that is what she was trying to say to me. Now, she is pregnant and she told me if she has a girl that she is taking her back to Pakistan when she is around ten year old. So, I can assume she wants to take her home and put a burka on her head and take away her own daughters human rights. She and her husband are here only for the dollars and not for human rights or the U.S. Constitution.

What is the politically correct term these days for people like my neighbor that our open borders politicians are advocating and letting into the country by the hordes? Economic refugees of course. And, these are the people who are going to defend our Constitution? NOT!!

Bump for truth.
