Since when have the national "experts" every understood the quirky stew of Minnesota politics? According to them Governor Hubert H. Humprehy, III should be a shoo-in for re-election this November.

I have yet to see a compelling argument as to why Mondale will automatically inherit all of Wellstone's coalition. The far left who liked Senator Socialits are no great fans of Fritz. Those independents who were drawn to Wellstone's maverick image are unlikely to be attracted to Mr. DFL Politics as Usual, Senior Tour version.

As anyone considered that Mondale is to politics what Phil Donahue is to Cable TV?
