Well, as most things in this world go, the further away something goes from its founding, the less "pure" it becomes. I think that NR is still conservative, but it no longer has such brilliant people there now as it did in the past. In what specific areas are you disappointed with NR?

Legalization of drugs, support for national service. There is also this tendency to bash actual conservative candidates and officeholders. In one issue they called Alan Keyes' style "primal scream and fantasy" in another issue they called Bob Smith a "bumbling ball of unpredictability." According to them Bob Barr is a "Black Helicopter Civil Libertarian" and Ron Paul a "gullible gadfly."
But NR still has redeeming traits. I enjoy Rob Long's satire column.
