Run-DMC was the Beatles of Rap, believe or not there was actaully a time in the 1980's for a few years when rap was actually non-violent and took some talent to preform and write, this guy was one of those people.

I am certianly no rap fan. However Run DMS was NOT gangsta rap. They were as much Gansta as Martha Stewart.

I suppose you have never heard their music? No violence, little vulgarity.

gangster rap they were NOT. all about having fun and dancing and what not. i guess Burbank is a different world, but on the east coast run dmc was like the comercial start of funky urban music called rap. they were good hearted and nice guys. jay will be missed.
