HIGH POINT -- Police say they are dealing with an unusual case in the disappearance of 13-year-old Christopher Dixon a week ago.

They have yet to find any evidence that the boy was abducted, though they have not ruled out the possibility.

Christopher Edward Dixon, 13, is 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. He has light brown hair and bluish-green eyes. He wears glasses. On Thursday afternoon, he was wearing a light blue, short sleeved shirt and dark blue pants.

But it's not a typical runaway case, either. In most such cases, there's a family problem or other serious issue that causes a child to run away, and that doesn't appear to be the case, said police spokesman Lt. Jim Tate.

This is hard enough on his parents, without such stupid remarks as they don't know if he ran away or not.

Thanks so much for posting about Chris Dixon. His father and adult aunt were on TV last night with Greta on FNC. I just don't get a runaway feeling from this case.

But we are a political site composed of individuals who care about our children. If individuals were not important to us, and especially children who depend on us for their welfare, then we would be democrats, just caring aout the "issues" and the party.

There are an awful lot of folks that need to get kicked off, then, since child abductions and the Amber alert system were the hot topics of the summer on FR.

This family is one of us...we are a community as well. Too bad you can't sit on the couch with this mother.

The Dixons are huge Dole and Bush supporters...but that shouldn't even matter... a young upstanding child is in danger.

Thanks for the post! This is where our politics are manifested in action. It isn't always only about money, taxes, or even our more notable conservative social values.
