The facts that it was a BUSHmaster, the car was registered on 9-11, that he is a member of Islam AND changed his name to Muhammed, that they terrorized the DC area AND the nation, that they were to importing "illegals" which DOES NOT exclude terrorists (including themselves) are all connected.
The ballistics tests are beatable. While they do prove a weapon was sold, it doesn't prove whose hands the weapon is in. Create a very expensive law and guns will begin to get altered.
The INS and interaction between LE agencies is the weakness. Homeland Security is still sitting around thanks to Daschle and his Union payoffs.
It's much easier to incriminate ALL gun owners than it is for INS, LE and the justice system to do their jobs. We see our borders wide open, illegals running loose, criminals let back out on the streets while law-abiding Americans watch the 2nd Amendment under attack. It's easier to legislate and regulate law-abiding people than it is to track criminals and deport illegals.
