"The bookkeeping of the former Soviet states makes Enron's accounting look scrupulous..."
In looking for international support the Bush Administration continues to argue that Saddam Hussein's Iraq may be close to creating a nuclear weapon. But after revelations about the extent of the North Korean atomic weapons program a more likely assumption may be that Iraq already has one or more.
Forgotten in the current speculation over progress in Iraq is the history of the United States' own atomic bomb program...(snip)

We should thank Israel for causing Saddam not to have a bomb during the Gulf War by destroying the nuclear reactor in, I believe, 1981.

I most definitely agree! Thank you, Israel!

Agreed. But we're going to have to move fast against Iraq - and North Korea will be next on the list.

Yep. Israel did the planet a favor with that one.
Even though the US guvmint expressed it's displeasure, I think I recall that in an
interview with one of the planners (fliers?) in on the attack, he has a
"thank you" signed photo from Dick Cheney on his wall.

Cheney is a clear-eyed man!

You can also remember most of the world, in dismay, showing its opposition. Even the UN.

That also showed the power of the Israeli airforce to commit such an operation.

The public line, was to condemn Israel for this, but the private line, was to thank them for it.

Only Israel had the guts to destroy that facility.
To: WaterDragon
This is what W needs to learn,That it is much easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permision.
To: WaterDragon
Well, they thought the nuclear facility was a threat to their existence, and I believe it was too.
BTW, I knew that was a German ME 262, without even enlarging the pic.

The more we fiddle with this, the more we forget that No. Korea IS building a bomb, has an operable delivery system whose range they are increasing as we speak, and has an entire country [ant farm] of automatons who would do anything for Maximum Leader.
Vent away here, but do not forget the very real enemy who lacks only oil.
