Proven incidents of voter fraud should result in serious, hard prison time for the perpetrators, coupled with the turning over of their personal holdings to the IRS to be place back into the "general fund".

Personally, I think it should be a capital crime, and considered a specific case of Treason.

Messing with our electoral process, the very foundation of our representative government, is a clear example of "giving aid and comfort" to the enemies of our system.

I second that opinion. There should be zero tolerance for any vote tampering regardless of party.

Heh -- I wrote the above about an hour before I ran across the following transcript of Peggy Noonan talking about voter fraud on Hannity and Colmes:

NOONAN: Look, here's the big problem.
COLMES: What are they afraid of?
NOONAN: The worst thing that could happen Tuesday is that there are a lot of cases of treason. What do I mean by treason?
COLMES: Treason?
NOONAN: Yes. What do I mean by treason? I mean finagling with the vote. I mean stealing votes. I mean illegal voting. I mean dead people voting. I mean...
COLMES: Yes, there should be...
NOONAN: ... voter...
COLMES: All right. Then why...
NOONAN: We are in trouble...
HANNITY: Good point.
NOONAN: ... in this country, and the...
COLMES: You know what, Peggy? You're...
NOONAN: Alan, let me just say it. We're in trouble in this country in the world. We face extraordinary challenges. We cannot take it on the chin as a democracy again. We can't damage ourselves again. We can't damage ourself from one of this country to the other. I think anyone who does that will be guilty of a terrible sin against democracy...
Two great minds... :-)

I'd get onboard with that!
