Tim Hutchinson delivering concession speech now. He has called Mark Pryor and offered his congratulations on winning the race.

Republicans just don't appreciate nor support people who conduct themselves in less than an honorable fashion... Unlike Rats, who could care less, btw!

This was my fondest hope - for the GOP to retake the Senate WITHOUT the "born again" wife-dumper. For him to run after giving himself the baggage of being a divorce Baptist preacher, was pure selfishness. GOOD RIDDANCE.

aE{apHutchinson for a couple of reasons - 1) He voted to convict Clinton and 2) to regain a GOP majority in the Senate.
But I knew Mark Pryor when he was a law student, and he's a good guy for a Democrat. I hope he'll cross the aisle on many future occasions to vote with the Republicans. Unfortunately, I expect he'll drift to the left after a few years in Washington.

aE{apHutchinson for a couple of reasons Microsoft Internet Explorer strikes again. It should read "I supported Hutchinson for a couple of reasons..."

Yeah, but to those "family values" folks, its more important to have a Dem in place in order to teach a lesson. If anything, it'll marginalize those people even more.

Not with HILLPAC supporting him. He owes her bigtime! MS. HILLARY'S favorite butt-kisser, Gene Lyons did a lot to help Mark Pryor by writing all those "stories" about Hutchinson's DIVORCE one month before the election. The matter was a THREE YEAR OLD(1999) story!

We at least managed to run Tim Hutchinson ...
off and for that we can be grateful.
churchillbuff,
I think you're on the wrong forum. You should be over at Democratic Underground celebrating only one of the few things they are happy about.

Arkansans are really stupid. We elect (they elect) Mark Pryor, Democrat, with a Republican controlled Senate, House and President. DUH! Fat chance our state will ever get any attention.

Sigh. Incumbent Senators are difficult to get rid of. We need not only a majority, but a fillabuster-proof majority. Every vote counts. But hey, they really taught Hutchinson a lesson.
