The tornado hit town about 5:45 pm. High school gym destroyed along with other buildings on campus. None of the 50 people in the gym were injured as the bb coach felt the change in pressure and got everyone into a hallway. 2 dead, about 2 dozen injured, injuries considered to be non-life threatening. 70-80 yo pecan trees on houses along Kirkland Street. Many homes destroyed. Elem school has some damage, there will be no school this week. Half the busses in the bus shop are undrivable. Remarkable there were no more deaths or injuries. Power lines were down everywhere, but power restored to downtown about 10am. A big thank you to all the emergency services that came to help. Our neighboring communities responded without being called. Thank you! Please pray for our town.
