Neil Cavuto just interviewed Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr., the director of the OMB, and Neil let it be known that he's hearing rumblings that Pres. Bush is considering a total re-write of the tax code and that SecTreas O'Neill is strongly pushing a national retail sales tax!

It will never get done otherwise. The rebates I am talking about will apply to every man, woman, and child equally. The way I look at it if you eliminate by rebate a tax on the necessities of life, the argument can be made that the more you spend, the more tax one pays. One pays taxes according to the benefits he reaps from the society. There are only three things one can do with money--invest it, save it, or spend it. The first two create jobs and/or make money available for others to create jobs. The last creates jobs. Who can argue with that. Cutting off contributions to charity will be strongly opposed too. By letting people assign their rebates, this opposition can be overcome.

Wake up people! A 401K is just an investment account that is protected from THE INCOME TAX. If there is no income tax, then effect EVERY ACCOUNT YOU HAVE IS A 401K!

My greatest concern? A NRST will be implemented, but they'll keep at least part of the income tax. And then the income tax will slowly creep back up. And we'll have the worst of BOTH worlds.

HR2525 does away with the IRS and all records they hold.

HR2525 exempts all used items. Your house might drop in price do to the expected drop in cost for new homes.

...Scrapping the IRS and income tax code is all well and fine, but realize that the 16th amendment will have to be repealed first...

If we scrap the tax code and send IRS agents packing, who exactly will tax our income? It was supposed to be voluntary in the first place. All they need to do is give us permission to sign a form that we no longer volunteer.

Nope. Try being taxed one time at retail. And the store gets paid for collecting.

Prebates to poverty level so poor folk don't pay it. Nor do the rich folk, but only to poverty level. Bill Gates and all rich folk can have the prebate every month.

And IRS's records are shredded and they can go to work for Border Patrol!
