This guy really is gonna run in 2004, isn't he? I've seen more of him in the last week than in the last ten years!

Why shouldn't he run? The reason he quit his campaign is because he was caught doing what the Democrats have since declared is his own private business. And the Democrats have also declared that they have no new leadership -- Lautenberg and Modale, two of Hart's contemporaries, were called in to lead the party -- indicating a huge leadership vaccuum. Gary Hart has reason to believe not only that he is needed, but that he would be welcomed by the old guard.

He only left because he was cought having an affair. Bill paved the way.

I think this is the best the dems have. Mondale was desparate as well. JFK Jr. would have been their only hope.
