Report accuses Mexican police and military of rights abuses EFE - 11/10/2002
Mexican police and military personnel systematically use arbitrary arrests of civilians in an effort to dissuade the detainees from carrying out their protests against social ills, a report by a local human rights organization charges.
Over the past three and a half years, 830 people have suffered abuses of authority by the police, justice officials and military personnel, according to the report by the Miguel Agustin Human Right Center to which EFE had access.
"Arbitrary arrests in our country are a continuous practice by civilian and military authorities," said the report by the non-governmental organization.
Most of the victims are leaders of indigenous and peasant organizations, journalists and officials of human rights groups active in Mexico's poorest regions.
The release of the report coincides with a visit to Mexico by United Nations human rights official Louis Joinet who is to present a report on arbitrary detentions at the next meeting of the U.N. Commission for Human Rights. |

Yeah ---I wonder what President Fox is doing to find all those "missing" Mexican journalists. He's seems pretty eager to talk about human rights abuses lately ----but only to accuse the US of abusing the rights of his fleeing citizens. The world should wonder what happens at the Rio Grande and other parts of the US - Mexico border ---why does prosperity just come to a sudden halt?

Abuse by Mexican police is nothing new. As teenagers in the 'fifties we were warned never to go to Tijuana Mexico because if we got arrested we would never get out. There were horror stories of American kids who got thrown in jail down there for some little infraction of their laws, and the parents couldn't retrieve their child until they paid thousands of dollars to get the charge dropped. The unlucky ones who had to stay were beaten during their stay in jail, but they finally released them because what the police really wanted was American money.
Any policeman down there can be bribed with American money.

This is news? I remember being shaked down by the Mexican
Federales and fired on by the military while walking on the beach back in the '60s.
Smartest thing we ever did after the Mexican War was only take the territory without many Mexicans.

They are bribed with Mexican pesos, too.

Why don't we just shove them into South America and open up some new beach front property for sale? It's certainly a better option than allowing them to bring their trashy hides into our country demanding rights for invaders and over burdening the taxpayer.

Oh, yes. Many stories were true. When I was hitchhiking around in Mexico in the '60s it was quite wild. More than once I was very glad I had a .44 magnum revolver and a valid Mexican pistol permit (my greatuncle had spent almost a decade in Mexico in the 1910-20 period and "knew people" in the PRI). While I never got really busted, just hustled and hassled, my great uncle did have to bail some of my older cousins out in the '50s. We didn't go anywhere in Mexico without a card in Spanish telling any cops to call some guy in Mexico City before jugging us.

These are the new republican voters who will propel America to being a constitutional republic again.
Just look at the last election.
Look at Illinois and California.
Look at South Florida.
Look at any state where these fine Americans reside in large numbers.
Look and you'll see that:
The Third World Is Coming To Us!
