Generally, folks like that sort out into a few categories.

• "Patriots for profit," who seek to make money from selling BS to very small niche audiences;
• Hardcore ideologues, who don't so much hate their fellow man as they wish he would either agree with their anointed vision or quietly step into the showers;
• Life's permanent losers, who figure that if that their life sucks, then so should everyone else's, so let's have a civil war;
• Those who want society to collapse into anarchy, because they figure they'll be holding the whip;
• and the mentally ill.

A lovely bunch.

You forgot one group.

People who think the constitution is a good thing, and would like the government to follow it. Strange how so few people believe that anymore, that those who do are considered extremists.

I guess America is, in a very real sense, not even America anymore. To most people, the constitution is a document that must be circumvented in order to get the power of government to do the bidding of whatever the special interest, pet project de jour is. Sad really.
