Actor Jeffrey Jones Arrested

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Actor Jeffrey Jones, best known as the suspicious high school principal in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," was arrested Thursday for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old boy and possessing child pornography, authorities said.

Jones, 56, surrendered and was freed on $20,000 bail, said Officer Jason Lee (news), a police spokesman. Arraignment was scheduled for Nov. 21.

Jones was charged with one count each of using a minor for sex acts and possession of child pornography, said District Attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons. She said the alleged victim was a 17-year-old boy.

Police began investigating Jones last November after a minor came forward and "alleged criminal acts of a sexual nature," Lee said.

Investigators subsequently searched Jones' home and seized "numerous items of evidence," Lee said. He did not elaborate.

Jones could not be reached for comment. There is no listing for him in the Los Angeles area and the Screen Actors Guild (news - web sites) did not immediately respond to a request for his agent's number.

A widely recognized character actor, Jones played the music-loving Emperor Joseph II in "Amadeus," the mentalist Criswell in "Ed Wood (news)" and the father in "Beetlejuice."

Some politicians say that the only thing that can stop them is being caught with a dead girl or live boy in their bed. I'm unsure how this works in Hollyweird though; Jones will probably get a medal from P-FLAG and/or the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.

This reporter is totally insane and irresponsible. He didn't play a "music loving emperor" in Amadeus. That emperor told Mozart that the "Magic Flute" had too many notes.

Ditto. The guy generally played "skeevy" roles (except for the one in The Hunt For Red October)

That emperor told Mozart that the "Magic Flute" had too many notes.
The opera was "The Marriage of Figaro," and he merely repeated the criticism of his jealous in-house musicians.

So What! Just more crapola from Hollywood. The entire actors group are one point higher than the terrorists, six below used car salesmen. You hear people talking about not buying drugs because the profits go to the mafia. That's how I view Hollywood. It's been almost 13 yrs since my last visit in a theatre. I'm on a roll!

My apologies. It was not "Figaro" but "Abduction from the Seraglio."

That emperor told Mozart that the "Magic Flute" had too many notes.

And now it turns out that the emperor was playing a Magic Flute.

Nice to know that Mia Sara and Jennifer Grey didn't have to worry about being pawed by this guy when they were shooting.
