Thanks for posting that article about the missing person from Dunn A&L! That bugged me all night so I called Monica from CUE earlier to day to find out who it was since I never really know when I am going to be able to get to a pc to read and post.
Apparently everyone was encouraged by Wednesday's search and they have some areas to target on Saturday.
I had heard about Barry's letter, knew he was writing it, but hadn't had a chance to read it before now. Thank-you for posting that too. I'm glad he made an effort to say at least something. He doesn't realize at all how much his input is needed.
Funny I was relieved that the person they found wasn't Alice. Until now, I was always hopeful that each body found might be hers, but now I am coming to dread it each time one is found. Maybe it's the holidays, maybe it's because I am not able to touch that part of me deep down on a conscious basis that would react strongly to actual news of her death. All I know is that as much as I need closure, I am beginning to dread finding her.
I haven't said much to the local people here about her but the grocer today recognised my name and asked me about her. So, I was feeling a bit down in the dumps as I walked home, yet touched by his compassion and prayers. As I entered the house I heard "Unchained Melody" being sung on the radio and that did it for me. Our last conversation on the phone was about that song and how beautifully my daughter sings it. Aliced LOVED Lori's singing of that song and she played Lori's tape over and over.
And then when I decorated the little tree tonight I looked at the decorations and cried because she was with me when we bought these particular ones from the Christmas Dove.
It's been a very hard day today, but each tearful day usually brings some cleansing of feelings. I just don't think an ocean of tears is ever going to erase this.
I am VERY grateful to CUE in their assistance. One of the good things to come out of all this searching are the people who ARE being found! EVen though it's not Alice, we are still glad that folks are out there looking and are aware all over the place. Some families will get to rest...finally.
Oh, and as long as Carol McKeel lives and breaths, the searches will NEVER be over! She will NOT rest until Alice is found!!!! She is our baby sister and she WILL have her way lol!
