BEIRUT, Nov 21 (Reuters) - An American woman missionary was found shot dead in southern Lebanon in the infirmary where she worked, a security offical said on Thursday."The missionary, she was killed. She was hit by shooting," the official said. "They are investigating it."
The official said the woman was 30 years old. She was shot when she entered the clinic in the southern port city of Sidon. He said no motive was known for the shooting.

BEIRUT, Nov 21 (Reuters) - An American missionary was found shot dead in southern Lebanon in the infirmary where she worked, a Lebanese security official said on Thursday.
"The woman, a missionary, was killed. She was hit by shooting," the official said. "They (Lebanese security) are investigating it."
The official said the woman was 30 years old. She was shot when she entered the clinic in the southern port city of Sidon, some 45 km (30 miles) south of Beirut. He said the motive for the shooting was not known.
Another security source in Sidon said the woman worked as an assistant nurse in a health clinic and was shot once in the head.
There were no immediate further details on the incident and the woman was not named.
The area where the shooting occurred is a hotbed for Muslim fundamentalist groups opposed to American support of Israel in its conflict with the Palestinians, as well as U.S. policy on Iraq.
Anti-American sentiment has been soaring in the Middle East since a Palestinian uprising against Israel began in September 2000.
The U.S. embassy in Lebanon declined to comment and said they had sent an official to investigate the report.
She was an American. That's enough to these Islamofascist homocidal pod creatures.

(Sidon, Lebanon-AP) -- The US Embassy says it's investigating the murder of an American missionary in southern Lebanon.
Bonnie Weatherall was shot dead this morning at the clinic where she worked as a nurse.
Police say an unidentified gunman knocked on the door and shot her three times in the head.
It's the first killing of an American citizen in Lebanon in more than ten years. Police don't know yet if it was politically motivated.
