True story -- my hubby went to the local barnes and noble to get the Sean Hannity book for me -- Michael Moore's book was right in front -- big sign, big display -- Sean's book was NOWHERE to be found -- DH finally asked a cleark about Sean's book -- she shrugged and said it was somewhere around -- finally found it UNDER a table ! My husband asked why Michael Moore's book was right in front, while Hannity's was hidden -- clerk mumbled something about going by the "bestseller list". Hubby marched to the front, got a copy of the NY Times and showed her that Hannity's book was 1st -- she then said "well, we go by the best sellers in OUR store" !!! Hubby asked her how in the world did they expect to sell a book when it was UNDER a table !! Grrrr !!

Bookstores do that all the time. Why, who knows. When you ask for a book that was just published because you can't see it on the shelves, they check their computer and then go out to the loading dock and return with a copy of the book. Amazing. They did that with Rush's books at first, but then set them out on display because they were popular books in this town and they got tired of going out to the loading dock every ten minutes.

I have been a fan of Cigar Aficianado since its 1st issue. I always bought it at the same store. I went in to the store to get the issue with Rush on the cover. I searched and searched and couldnt find it. No big deal, probably sold out, as could be expected.
So I go up to the counter and ask if they have the new Cigar Aficianado. The guy behind the counter asks me, "The one with Limbaugh on the cover?" with a very sour attitude. I said yes. He told me to wait a minute and went into THE BACK ROOM! He came out with a copy and put it on the counter and said "we don't sell many copies of this magazine" as he rang me up. I told him I buy it here every 3 months when it comes out and it is always on the rack. Why is this issue in the back room? He didnt have an answer.
