Watching it now. All us FReepers at one time or another bemoan our situation with RATs and other evils that threaten liberty. Something bad happens and we get long in the mouth.
Many of you were there in the late 70s. Remember just how bad it was.
This great man saw not what America was at that time, but what he knew it could and should become. And he led us in that direction.
He is responsible for my interest in conservativism which opened a whole world of political and later philosophical inquest.
His inner strength, clarity, honesty and optimism are traits he had in such abundance that I've yet to ever see them in one person before.
If I ever feel self-pity or despair, I think of only one man and how he chose to see the world in order to remind me - Ronald Reagan. It's a great day to be an American.

Regarding the show: Everybody was kind and gratious. Maybe Ron rubbed off on even his adversaries in some ways. Ron Jr. was great. Patty was quite refreshing as well.
The Secret Service guy at the end was a killer though. Getting choked up isn't really part of a GenXer like myself, but I was.
