Black Democrats Scramble for Leadership Posts

If black Americans are such a key part of the Democrat Party's base, why aren't more black lawmakers tapped to fill Democratic leadership positions? That's what some members of the Congressional Black Caucus are starting to wonder. According to wire reports, the Congressional Black Caucus wants Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) to replace Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) as chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. But it looks like Rep. Martin Frost (D-Tex.) may get the important fund-raising post. According to wire reports, black Democrats are grumbling. Those wire reports quote Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus) as saying, "It's time for diversity to show its head...We want to have input with the Democratic caucus of the House. We get frequently labeled as the base, but the base is rarely heard from when it comes to decisions related to the DCCC." The Congressional Black Caucus reportedly has sent a letter to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, saying that Rep. Jefferson is the right person for the DCCC chairmanship. Pelosi reportedly has not made any decision yet.

And don't forget....there is a litmus test for ALL positions in a lib/dem administration - they must embrace the practice of killing pre-born babies.

I find fascinating the degree to which abortion has really become the glue that holds the whole Democrat party together. Without that issue they'd probably lose half their voters and three-quarters of their contributions. Sometimes I think it's the ONLY thing that keeps suburban whites in the Democratic fold.

There have been a lot of times that I've debated self-proclaimed moderate Democrats on politics and after some discussion I'll discover that they don't believe in socialist economics, believe there are too many restrictive government regulations, and they think the Republicans are better at foreign policy. But they won't vote GOP because they are afraid that Roe v. Wade will be overturned. Some of these people have been women who claim they would never have an abortion themselves, but they believe in "choice." Pretty much all of them are people who really don't care about the erosion of rights that are actually in the Constitution, like the 2nd Amendment.

The slavish devotion to that one issue just astounds me. What kind of worldview leads a person make the continued legalization of infanticide the number one item on their political agenda?

You nailed it - there is a worldview that drives it. See I John 5:19.
