Excellent editorials, I agree. I was interested in one figure, "Attorney General John Ashcroft, 54%" approval rate among Jews questioned in 2002. Considering Ashcroft's reputation as a far-right Christian fundamentalist and his constant demonization in the press, that's a pretty remarkable number. It doesn't surprise me that Jews say the like Colin Powell. But a majority for Ashcroft is really remarkable, after the Dem press has given him the Gingrich treatment for two years.
