ABSENTEE VOTING

TO: All voters who may not be able to make it to the polls on Tue,
December 17.

FROM: Tim Hugo, Republican Candidate for Va. House of Delegates, 40th
District.

ENCLOSED: This memo and one absentee ballot request form.

We want you to vote. Please do not give up your right to vote just
because you cannot get to the polls on Tuesday, December 17th. We
will do everything that we can to help you vote.

If you qualify to vote absentee, there are two ways to vote:

(1) IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING --- whenever it is convenient for
you….. the week before the election…..busy Moms…..people
traveling……Go Vote…….!!!!!

Given the very short time frame that Governor Warner gave for this
election….Voting Absentee In-Person is the safest way to make sure
that your vote is counted!!!!

You can vote absentee in person by going to the Fairfax Government
Center located at 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323,
Fairfax, VA 22035-0081. Please call 703-324-4735 for more information.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Saturday, December 14, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

(2) MAIL ABSENTEE VOTING --- go through the 2-step mail-in absentee
ballot process (see below for details).

MAIL-IN ABSENTEE BALLOTING - a 2 step process.

Step 1: Request a ballot (with the Ballot Request Form attached in
PDF format). The Registrar will then mail you an official ballot.
You must request an absentee ballot .

Step 2: Complete the official ballot and mail it in.

Interestingly, you don't actually have to be out of town on election
day to qualify to vote by absentee ballot.
You may vote absentee if you are unable to go to the polls on
Election Day because you ...
· are a student or the spouse of a student outside Fairfax County
· will be away from Fairfax County on business
· will be working and commuting for 11 or more hours between 6 a.m.
and 7 p.m. on December 17th.
· will be away from Fairfax County on personal business or vacation
· are unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability
· are the primary caretaker of a confined family member
· have a religious obligation
· are confined awaiting trial
· are confined having been convicted of a misdemeanor
· are an election official
· are on active duty in the military
· are the spouse or dependent residing with a member of the military
· are an overseas citizen http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/gov/eb/
(see
notice below) whose most recent United States residence was in
Fairfax County.

If you want to exercise your right to vote, and think you meet any of
the above qualifications for absentee voting, please complete the
attached Absentee Ballot Application and mail it to:
General Registrar, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323,
Fairfax, VA 22035-0081 or FAX it to (703) 324-2205.

Faxing the absentee ballot application
is the easiest and fastest way to get your ballot.
If you lose your absentee ballot request, you can download a new one
at:
http://www.co.fairfax.va.us/gov/eb/absenteeballotapp.pdf

Filling Out Your Absentee Ballot Request Form
You must fill out parts A, B, C & D. It is very rare that you will
fill out part E, as it is only used when a person is completely
unable to sign on their own behalf.

After you fill out your absentee ballot request form, fax it to the
General Registrar at (703) 324-2205. If you don't have a fax
available to you, you can mail the form to the General Registrar,
12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 323, Fairfax, VA 22035-0081.

At the time that you send in your absentee ballot request, it would
be VERY helpful if you would send us an email at: Tim@TimHugo.com
mailto:Tim@TimHugo.com, with the words "Absentee Request Sent" in
the subject line and your name in the body. This will help us out a
great deal (you will save us a lot of work by sending this simple
email!).

You missed all the fun Saturday at the lit drop. 25 degs F but the sun was shining and there wasn't any wind so it really wasn't that bad. The wife thinks I'm nuts but this just confirmed her suspicions

I am unavailable for any more lit drops but I offered to close a poll on election day.
