Actually..Louisiana has not a "unique" system as the press will tell you..it really is a common sense system..to think Louisiana is the only state that does NOT pay for Democrat or Republican party primary..why should tax payers pony up to pay for these two parties when no other state does it for other parties like the libertarian or taxpayer or nose picker parties??? Let everyone run together..if no one gets a majority then the top two run against each other..and there is no spoiler..which has hurt GOP candidates..GOP candidates can be sore losers and run third parties in the so called "runoff" and give the demos a win without a majority..
I don't know Mary's rating with Planned Parenthood, but in 2001 she had a 100% rating the the National Abortion Rights League and a 0% rating with the National Right to Life group. And Mary has even uttered the words "pro-life," since she voted to ban partial-birth abortion, but only after she voted time and time again to GUT the bill! Of course, on every other "life" issue, she voted with the pro-abortionists. What a hypocrite! I guess she thinks we forgot that six years ago our beloved former Archbishop Hannan announced to Catholics that it would be a sin to vote for Mary because of her pro-abortion views. Mary is trying to reinvent herself for this election, and she screams "negative campaigning" when Suzie tells the truth about her very liberal voting record.
Terrell, a Republican, is asking Landrieu and the Democratic Party to follow state law, which bans paying people to take voters to the polls on Election Day.On a more humorous note, here's algore's team in action during election 2000 (no offense to anyone intended):
I personally agree that the State should not run primary elections. I do not see any mandate that says Senators must be elected by majorities. Clinton never got a majority of the popular vote, only a plurality. If they want only one election, in Novemember then they should let the high vote getter have the seat. If they want a simple majority elected candidate in Nov. they need a runnoff race BEFORE November. As they had previously, only the top two must always run again in the general, even if one got 55% on the first round.
