San Francisco -- A 26-year-old San Francisco man seeking $1.25 million from the city in a police-brutality claim said Friday that he was called a "faggot" by one or both of the officers, who cracked his ribs as they arrested him.

said that either Officer Alex Fagan Jr., son of the department's second-in-command, or Officer Jason Kristal -- or both -- used the slur during the July 23 arrest in the parking lot of the Toys R Us on Geary Boulevard.

Kristal wrote in his police report that the officers had to subdue Jordan after he tried to grab Fagan's gun.

He said Friday that he was "shocked and shaken" by the ordeal and "freaked out" by the blood flowing from his cuts.

He characterized both Kristal and Fagan by saying, "It's a high school bully with a badge who has issues about homosexuality."
