I commend your skepticism. I'm all for everyone running around the school now and then - I have no doubt almost anyone would benefit from that. What kid wants to sit still all day?
But, I'd suggest that you're comparing apples and oranges. I've often read (from pro-Ritalin writers) similar things (that lots of excersize can produce results as successful as medication).
I don't think any competent doctor would disagree with what you said. But, there's a lot more to ADD than just being relaxed in class.

Ritalin turned my kid into a zombie. Unfortunately, my ex had his custody. Later on, when I went for custody of my other two kids, I discovered that she was keeping him on the stuff long after his doctors had determined that he had outgrown it. All this "study" is, is butt covering by the screwed up medical profession, the same people who want you to shoot poison (Botox) into your face, so they can make a buck off it.
