If it's proprietary gear then it's gonna be less usefull than a C-64! Although the technowledgy will probably sustain itself in govt & corporate levels. (i.e.: satelite phones) Especially by remote outfitters. Maybe it will accelerate if ANWAR goes into drilling / construction mode.

Bumping for what to do with my Direcway equipment if they stop supporting it. The feds would not be happy about 150,000 uplink stations pointing aimlessly into space. People might start aiming them at other satellites - - - big trouble.
Maybe Hughes will buy back the equipment at some pro rated cost.
