Lott is a phony. Everything about his demeanor and his politics is phony. Who is the real Trent Lott?

He is a poster child for the word "tolerance" - a disgusting term used to create a false sense of a smiley face society answering the Rodney King plea to just let's all get along.

It's how he ran the Senate... getting along with a dangerous, selfish and unpatriotic Democratic president and his lying, blackmailing, criminal gang of character assassins. Trent was the "good man" who stood by and did nothing while bad men (and Hillary!) took over and had their way with America. Now they are coming to get him. I suppose his little feelings are hurt - which means the real Trent is about to expose himself. I guarantee it won't be pretty if the mask drops.

If I had to guess one way or the other, I would say Trent Lott is a racist. His professional "tolerance" of "African-Americans" smacks of the same hypocrisy seen in liberal Democrats who buy black votes with social programs that waste everyone's money and feed the crime and corruption and social unrest that eats away at the heart of our nation - the bond of citizenship in a land of liberty and opportunity.

We need America to strive for the goal of brotherhood - not tolerance. The brotherhood of Americans that is defined by respect for our own and each other's freedom and dignity and that brings high expectations and hopes and help that encourage and build each other up, regardless of race or personal circumstances.
We don't need Senators who fill quotas and show off "tolerance" with appeasement when they hire staff members, and then point to their colorful interns and claim to be men who are not offensive from their hearts, only from their heads.

Trent Lott is not the best that America can be - he is and always has been a hollow man - a phony. When the Republican Party fills its leadership with sincere, honorable, articulate, conservative men and women who say what they mean and follow their convictions, then we will attract people of dignity from across all the disappearing boundaries of race, income and region in our great land.

Your post could have been written by Jesse Jackson. It's boilerplate; meaningless. There are white and black people I can barely "tolerate." For God's sake, don't ask me to foster some kind of phoney "brotherhood" with them.

Do your calls for "brotherhood" include embracing gays as "brothers" as well?

Around here, gays are not even "tolerated."
