Don't worry, we're not with the rats. We're with Peggy Noonan, the National Review, David Frum, and all the other conservatives who want Lott out for the good of the party! What the rats want is irrelevant, whether they agree or disagree.

So what about the Drudge story that Sen. McConnell says if Lott is asked to leave the leadership, he just might bolt altogether, making the Republican majority even tighter?
I dunno---that doesn't ring true to me. Don't get me wrong, I definitely could see Lott being that selfish and egotistical. But I think those same character traits could compel him to keep his seat, too.
