A death watch, you mean like when Jim Hodges was governor and Strom was not feeling strong? Or ditto with Easley & Helms? I don't really like death watches much, I'm content to wait 'til he's voted or skerred out of office. Any truth to the rumor that Strom may run against Hollings in 2004?

Does anyone on the scene know much about this party-switching fellow? Is he at least conservative on some issues? Low-tax, dare we even hope pro-life? (not that city councilmen are asked about that)
