...police fired 19 9 mm full-metal-jacket bullets... FMJ??? I find that incredible. Why the he!! would police not be using hollow points?
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't the stopping power would be a lot better and the reduced overpenetration minimize danger to bystanders? FMJ for police use just doesn't make sense to me.
The Diallo shooting occurred in New York City and the police there carry full metal jacket rounds because politicians there decided that hoolow point rounds inflicted too much damage on an human being. Of course they ignored the fact that FMJ rounds are more likely to over pentrate and go on to hit an innocent bystander.
