I'm sure there are plenty Freepers here who has an estranged family member. It's really not all that uncommon, and your remark just rubs me the wrong way.

Yes, my husband and I suffer, daily, the loss of a close family member through estrangement and the pain is vicious and unrelenting....especially at Christmas. First hand, I recognize when a party just doesn't care and their side is the only side. And by the way, your remarks just rubbed me the wrong way too but I don't expect an apology.

I can see not speaking to my mother for 14 years, or the rest of my life. The same goes for my brothers. We have chosen different roads in life.
