The guy answered that whenever its possible, they try not to show african americans or hispanics getting arrested, he gave some estimate that around 75% to 80% of the material that is edited out features minorities. He only uses minorites when its "exciting footage". Alot of people were unhappy with those comments and started claiming this proved the show was racist. Personally, I don't watch the show, so I can't say for sure.

BTW, last night the episode of COPS that aired in the New York area had a sergeant taking down a pickup truck containing white supremacist drug dealers (while chatting with a COPS producer.

When they break down homicide arrests by race/ethnicity, with Hispanics being separated (the FBI Uniform Crime Reports adds the Hispanic crimes with the White crimes) we see that non-Hispanic Whites, who are 57% of population, account for 22% of homicide arrests.
