LOVE your new bathroom! That green looks like the color in my laundry room!

My daughter's bathroom is set up like yours...except we replaced the vanity with a single pedestal sink...white tile (in 1/2 the house). So pretty.

Have you two ever heard of a cartoonist named Darby Conley? He draws 'Groovitude', about a cat with attitude. I always have my inhaler handy when reading it...puts me into an asthmatic problem...too much laughing. Bought the latest book for our neighbors..their cat, Tiger, sleeps at our house. He's our stepcat.

OH, my GOODNESS!!! The TWO TOWERS is FANTASTIC!!!!

Yeah! I am so glad you liked it! I have seen it four times now....and am not done yet. It's a movie I will never tire of.

I just LOVE the part at the end where Gollum and Smeagol are arguing (all of the arguments they have are great, but that one is brilliant). Just love it.

Thanks for letting us know, CG, and please forgive our knee-jerk responses. Sometimes we're visited by trolls and respond accordingly! Hope you had a Blesssed Christmas and that this New Year will be your Happiest!

I just dumped 6 oz of broken candy canes into it for the crunch, along with dusting the top with the remaining amount.

There you go! I prefer mine without the crunch because the darn stuff sticks in my teeth!! Actually you can buy red and green mint crunch to mix in with the melted candy, but I don't like it for the same reason as the candy canes! That's why I like the Peppermint Flavoring. I haven't made mine yet; plan to do that today to give as gifts to Scout Leaders & neighbors.

OH, my GOODNESS!!! The TWO TOWERS is FANTASTIC!!!!

Oh Yeah! We went to see on the day after it came out. We waited for the two older boys to get home from college so we could all see it together, however, Sir SuziQ, and both of the boys had seen it on the first day also. SSQ went with a group from work, and the boys went with friends at school on the first day.

I enjoyed it tremendously! There are big discussions in the Hobbit Hole about various characters and situations, whether or not they were enough like Tolkien wrote them, etc. Variations, notwithstanding, I thought it was a tremendous movie, and will probably go three or four more times with our daughter, who is the other Tolkien geek in the family!

I am not THAT worried, but it's still kind of scary. :-D

Stepping out in faith can be that way, sometimes!

That essay by Frank Schaeffer was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. I saw it when it was first published, but thanks for posting it here. We can NEVER hear enough sentiments like those!

Well, my bottom line about Bush at War is that it's being promoted because it's the work of a famous liberal, and regardless of the details, it shows Bush to be what he really is...... a strong, decisive leader who cares deeply about the American people and the people of Afghanistan.

No matter what we 'in the know' folks think, it's not going to hurt the President's image in the public eye.

I'm still glad I bought it, and have it as a matter of record.

Yes.....that part was fantastic. We all watched the extended DVD version of the Fellowship on Christmas day......all four of our kids asked for it! :o)

I'm glad that I had that review before we saw this one.....in my normal procrastination, I haven't gotten to the Two Towers in the trilogy yet!

btw, I think that Gollum in the dark looks like Helen Thomas, and in the light looks like James Carville. :o) Agree??

Well, the fact that Christopher Lee is a Tolkein 'geek' helps verify that the movies are as close as movies can get to a great book.

They have to leave some things out, unfortunately, or we'd be watching a very long movie!

Have you seen the extended DVD with all the neat interviews of the cast, Suzi? The extra scenes in the extended version make it much more interesting, IMO, and keep it from going from one action scene to another. You also get to hear some of the songs from the books. When Aragorn sings, it's pretty cute! hehe

My daughter attends Marquette and the entire original written works of Tolkein are in the library there, so she's seen them. Did you know that, lawgirl? They're right there in Milwaukee!!

OH.....Miss Marple....that reminds me......on Monday night, our whole family watched 6 hours of Pride and Prejudice!!! It was the A&E version that daughter #1, Jane Austin addict, owns. It is absolutely FABULOUS!! In 6 hours you get so much more involved in the real Austin characters. Have you, perchance, seen it?

Maybe the LOTR trilogy should just be 18 hours long! :o)

Okay, I'll be there in a few days. I will take me a while to hitchhike out to you. Hmmmm how does one hitchhike in the snow???

Perhaps I should wait until a summer visit is possible!!!!!!

Yes, I have seen it. My daughter is also a Jane Austin addict. We have copies of Emma and Sense and Sensibility, too.

I am a devotee of the Regency period (when Austin was writing) and read anything referring to or about that period.

***woo hoo!! Is ther somewhere close to the middle? Youknow, we really should
work on having a dosers reunion somewhere. That would be a blast!***

Ask McLynnan if you can use her houseboat for the reunion.

***He's our

You have a STEPCAT, too? Amazing coincidence. So do we! She stretches out at the top of the steps and dares anyone to get past her. We tell anyone who intends to make a safe descent, "Watch it. The stepcat's on duty again."

Tiger (aka Satan and Sir Timothy) owns the neighborhood and its dogs. During the day he sleeps on Lerch's pillow. snicker.
