I was offered (back in early August) one of the tickets to last weekend's Pack/Bills contest. I flew into Green Bay via Chicago O'Hare. I couldn't believe how small the town is (not much bigger than Denton, TX).
I love it up there. I was fully prepared for a very cold day. I had my ski jacket and bib. It turned out to be relatively mild (low 30s). The fans at Lambeau are awesom. Many wear cammo gear or deer-hunter orange [NRA friendly] and some folks have really cool hats made from various animal pelts (racoon, coyote, fox?, skunk!). It seems like almost all in attendance were pulling for the Pack - I was (and I'm a Redskin fan - I hate little Danny S. though). There was a couple dudes in my section (103 - end zone) wearing Bills jerseys. Both had on O.J.'s jersey. Thought that was strange. Even though there was a lot of beer drinkin' going on - every one I ran into was great and jolly - maybe they all wanted to be treated well by St. Nick :-)
Anyway, the Packers won 10-0. I had a great time; got to see the venue where Lombardi's (a great American of Italian heritage) kid-os spanked the Dullus Cowgirlz in the Ice Bowl, chowed down on cheese curds, drank lots o' beer, and got to see what Titletown was all about - screw all those big market teams - I experienced a real slice of America.
Go Pack... beat the Jets tomorrow!
