Our courageous men and women in the military, and our beloved veterans deserve better than to be spit on by Nicole Parra, their obvious enemy.

Did anyone see the Discovery special on "Gangs of New York"??
The Democrats there in the 1800's used to pay voters money to grow a beard and mustache. Tehn would then register and vote under one name, leave, shave off the beard, return and register and vote under a second name, leave, shve off the mustache and return to register and vote again a third time under another name.
Unless someone has actually been involved in a political campaign, they can't possibly conceive of the duplicity, criminal contempt, and viciousness of the DemocRATic Party in breaking all and any laws designed to achieve a fair and equitable vote.

Delivered the letter to Speaker Wesson today (see letter below); also delivered a copy to every State Assembly Member and every State Senator. Well, it was VERY interesting.
Nicole Parra HERSELF came with one of her goons to find me. She and her goon found me in the hallway minding my own business getting ready to leave the capitol; my patriotic duty done! She said, "I'm Nicole Parra" and she said I'm wasting my money distributing this letter. To that I LAUGHED OUT LOUD RIGHT IN HER PRETTY FACE!!! I said, "You talk to me about wasting money?!! You who wasted TWO MILLION DOLLARS?!" It was funny. Then she says, "I'm not afraid of you!" and I said, "Well, I'm not afraid of you, either, OBVIOUSLY!"
Later, I realized that she was trying to get me to threaten her or something so she could have me arrested. Well, I certainly disappointed her. I turned around to leave and she says, "Why are you running away?!" I said, "Because I have to go to work; I work for a living; I'm not a leech like you; I have to work for a living!"
Here's the letter (again) that I distributed at the capitol today:
Subject: Protest of Nicole Parras Appointment to Chair the Veterans Affairs Committee
"Dear Speaker Wesson:
This is to protest the outrageously ill-advised appointment of Nicole Parra to chair the Veterans Affairs Committee.
Are you aware that the Kern County Grand Jury is investigating Parras campaign activities? There were over 1,000 cases of documented voter fraud in Kern County alone. Ms. Parras father, Pete Parra, is also being investigated for using his office/contacts in an inappropriate manner to help his daughters campaign.
Even more egregious, however, is that apparently approximately 1,500 military absentee ballots were discarded in this race. For your information, Lemoore Naval Air Station is in this district. I am in the process of contacting the various Veterans organizations in Kings, Kern and Fresno counties. I will not rest until all are informed of Parras disdain for fairness and openness.
First you democrats trash military ballots, commit voter fraud and "dirty tricks" spending almost TWO MILLION DOLLARS to "win" this seat - then, to heap insult on injury, you appoint Ms. Parra to head the powerful and important Veterans Affairs Committee. This is an outrage beyond belief.
Did you think we patriotic citizens would just ignore your hideously obscene decision? We will not rest until Nicole Parra resigns or is forced out.
For truth and justice,
Saundra Duffy, Head of Fresno/Central Valley Chapter of FreeRepublic.com"

Op ed piece in Bakersfield California 1/6/03 praises Nicole Parra, yada yada yada. Here's Saundra's letter to the editor:
I got a kick out of Thomas Martinez piece about how Nicole Parra deserves support (1/6/03). Honestly, you people in Bakersfield must be the most naïve, most gullible, most ignorant folks on earth if you believe that nonsense.
Nicole Parra won by 265 votes out of 50,000 and had to spend over two million dollars. In addition, the Kern County Grand Jury is still investigating over one thousand documented cases of voter fraud. As a community, arent you humiliated?
Furthermore, where is the outrage over the alleged tossing out of approximately 1,500 military absentee ballots (Lemoore Naval Air Station)? And then, to add insult to injury, Speaker Herb Wesson appoints Nicole Parra to Chair the Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee? Dont you think the proud Veterans of Kern, Kings and Fresno Counties deserve better?
You people in Bakersfield are going to be the laughing stock of California if you give Nicole Parra a pass just because shes a pretty, young, Hispanic, well-connected democrat.
Sincerely,
Saundra Duffy

Another View / Thomas Martinez: Nicole Parra deserves support
Monday January 06, 2003, 06:00:12 PM
Our newly elected Assemblywoman Nicole Parra deserves congratulations. More importantly, she will need our support as she heads to Sacramento to represent the 30th District during this tough fiscal period.
Regarding The Californian's election coverage, with a more balanced reporting, the editors could have shown greater journalistic integrity. The newspaper could have demonstrated greater civic responsibility by choosing to place the election in context.
This summer, Californian editors strongly "endorsed" her as a "political moderate;" thereby recognizing her history and experience working with Rep. Cal Dooley, a fiscally conservative/socially progressive new-breed Democrat.
When election night results showed a tight race, The Californian ran an intimidating editorial suggesting that her "liberal" ties, used in a pejorative sense, might have caused her to be out of touch with the district.
Throughout the slow process of verifying provisional ballots that confirmed her victory, The Californian sought to tarnish her impending election, characterizing her out-of-district financial support as unusual and inappropriate.
It chastised her personally for not having won "easily" in what they called an "overwhelmingly Democratic" district and given her name recognition, as daughter of popular Kern County Supervisor Pete Parra.
The newspaper discounted that the district also includes Kings, Tulare and Fresno counties.
Not until her victory was certified did The Californian publish an article documenting that, compared to other candidates and past elections, there is "nothing unusual" about her outside support.
Parra's victory is historic. Upon her election, a number of observations should be considered:
* She is the first assemblywoman in the valley to represent Kern County since legendary Dorothy Donahoe of the 1950s.
* She is the first "Latina" elected, and only the third woman since 1867.
* She won despite the "stealth" opposition from the Democratic incumbent.
These are significant accomplishments by this talented 32-year old.
Add to this the challenge of being a candidate whose presumed strongest base of support was among low-income and minority residents groups that historically are the least likely to register, vote or to see hope and value through engagement in the political process.
California elections data (available at VoteQuest.com, Jesus Garcia Statistician) reveals that what The Californian described as an "overwhelmingly Democratic" (newly drawn) district, was only 49.7 percent Democrat. Given their lower voter turnout, this partially explains how Republican President Bush received 53 percent of the district's 2000 vote. It also explains how, beyond the past incumbent, no Democrat has been elected to represent Kern County in the Assembly in 28 years.
Additionally, while 61 percent of the district's population is Latino, only 55 percent of the voting-age population is Latino. Only 29 percent of voting-age Latinos is registered to participate in this political process, with less than half (13 percent) sufficiently engaged to turn out to vote.
That Nicole Parra received the support of more than 50 percent of the voters speaks well for her efforts in civic education. The challenge was and is to convince the disenfranchised and all segments of the community that civic engagement is worthwhile and in their interest. This is our fundamental challenge as a democratic society, as well.

Excellent!!! The little latino weasel tried to get under your skin... I admire you for your persistence and control in the face of the enemy. God Bless You and if ya wouldn't mind sharing the Grand Jury info, I'd appreciate the latest on how things are progressing. The wheels of Justice turn slowly but grind down even the hardest nut if we are tenacious in our desire for justice and the truth prevailing.
A sidenote.. I was amazed at the number of security personnel that GraYout had surrounding him at his inaugural events. God, what a bunch of thugs these bastards in Sacramento's Elite ruling party are.
